Thank You Note- David Doris, Law Quad Assault Gig
To you, Maestro, and to all you Ringsters...
If I may be so bold: HOLY SH**!!!
I don't think I'll ever be able to thank you enough for the performance you all did earlier this evening...
You blew my expectations right out of the water---it was better and cooler than I ever could have imagined, from beginning to end.
The first sight of you was shocking, to say the least: You looked GREAT! What costumes! And all that sexy-scary black, too!
And then, Michael, you opened your mouth to speak, and I was absorbed immediately---you created a bold, impressive character and some terrific lines of dialogue, and for me, it was a whole lot of fun engaging with you.
The fighting was beautifully done, even elegant at times, and utterly impressive.
And you die well, too, which, let's face it, most people do not do.
The students were surprised and amazed by the whole thing---afterwards, they were completely giddy.
When we got back to class, they had lots of questions and comments, but I decided to pretend that I had no idea what they were talking about; we've got a field-trip to Greenfield Village planned for the morning, and I'll own up to everything then.
Needless to say, you made the point perfectly---no way the students could have missed it---and I had more fun than I've had in quite a while...
Thank you, Thank you, and Thank you again. It was a joy-and-a-half working with you, and I can hardly wait until next time.
Long Live The Ring!
