The Elizabethan Language Book

The Elizabethan Language Book is a small, 40-page reference booklet published in 1994 by Renaissance Pleasure Faires, Inc. (The copyright is held in 1994 & 1996 by Renaissance Entertainment Corporation.) It is an 11-step guide on how to best sound like a native of Elizabethan times, written expressely for participants of renaissance festivals.

This web page has scans of selected pages from this book. The pages selected are those which contain the largest number of examples of "proper" vocabular, syntax, and grammer. There are other pages, dealing with history and pronounciation, which have not been scanned. For those really interested in this information, either find a copy of the book for yourself, or else ask us really, really nicely and we could be convinced to violate copyrights even more than we already have.
