The Ring of Steel is a theatrical combat group that has been performing and training people in the art of stage combat and movie stunt work since 1989 in Ann Arbor, MI. Founder and Executive Director Maestro Christopher Barbeau has been teaching and performing for almost forty years. The club has an impressive arsenal of over two thousand swords, guns, staffs, and other weapons at their disposal as well as for rental and can literally equip a small army.

Because experience in the field is rare and varied, we train all of our members from the ground up with heavy emphasis on technique, delivery, and teaching as a method of learning. We are an open group and accept anyone into our organization who is willing to put in the time and effort required to be a competent stage performer and/or stunt person.

We are ready to perform at any event, be it as small as a classroom in the basement of a library, or as large as Detroit Symphony Orchestra Hall.

Although the Ring stays mostly in the SE Michigan area, it has been known to travel all over the state and across the country for large events. We are a staple with local theater groups, and six years ago we started running summer stunt camps, indoctrinating young people into the safe, non-competitive fun that is simulated combat.

Our resume includes corporate parties, major festivals, weddings, professional theaters, boy scout troupe meetings, haunted houses, movies, schools, libraries, summer camps, and it continues to grow.
